Au Revoir 2012!

Re-reading The Hobbit, Did Reece's hair, Christmas tree,
Early Christmas present from Mum, Cheeky Christmas Eve purchase, Spoilt rotten,
Christmas Dinner parts one, two and three,
Boxing Day roast chicken, Excited to start (and stick to) writing in these beauties, Best takeaway.

Hi guys! Long time no post right? I'm not sure what happened, I've just kind of lost all motivation for blogging, and most things in general - sorry Uni. Let's just say the Christmas break was much needed! Although I seriously do need to kick my arse into gear and get some work done this next week. Ugh.

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, and will have a lovely New Year's. I spent Christmas morning with my dad and sister, had Christmas Dinner, then spent the evening with my Mum at my cousin's house. It was different, but a welcome change.

I'm having the New Year's night in for the first time in about 3 years with my Dad and sister and lots of sweets. I will be pretty glad to see the back of 2012, it really hasn't been my year. There have been some brilliant times, but mainly not-so-good times. Things for next year are looking up though, so positive thinking and all that!

I only have four resolutions this year:

  • To keep up with writing in my journals. I got given two for Christmas so I'm excited to really try
  • Work as hard as I can to do my very best at University. This past term hasn't been great at all so I'm making more of a conscious effort both socially and academically
  • Save money! It's the last lot of student loans this year and I plan on saving some of it. I'll be the first to admit I'm atrocious with money so I'm going to try my hardest to change that!
  • To keep happy and positive. Most of this year has been a downer so hopefully a bit of a change in attitude will help 2013 be better
What are your Resolutions?
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! AND THANK YOU FOR READING!

Weekly Summaries 43 and 44 (Bumper Edition)

Cute wrapping for Reece, Sleepy dog, Festive student house,
Essay work, Rain City Forbes, Tattoo Stencil on,
Finished product, BEST COFFEE CAKE, More essay work

OOTN for a house party, Essay woes, Fuel,
More essay woes, Dominos, Gift from Mum,
Lazy girls, Late night drive with the little monster, Re-reading the Hobbit and my new playbook :D

  1. So sorry for the lack of post last weekend! But the past couple of weeks have been my final two weeks of the term, so lots of deadlines and revision and essay writing!
  2. Not much has gone on really; it's all been revision and essays. I got tattooed again and also went to my friend's house party with Lydia, Charlotte and Bobby (promised I'd mention you ;D), and then to the film society Christmas meal which was really nice.
  3. I came home for the holidays on Friday, worked this weekend and saw Reece for the first time in a fortnight tonight, which was lovely.
  4. Every year Ikea gives each of its coworkers a (very generous) Christmas present. This year they gave us a Blackberry Playbook. I set mine up last night and it is amazing. So impressed with it. It isn't too great on the app front, but I plan on using mine for storing all of my dissertation research on it. I find whenever I try and use my laptop for research it takes twice as long due to 'Tumblr breaks'. So this should hopefully work, as flipping between screens isn't as easy on the playbook. So excited.
  5. I have almost a month off from uni, with an essay to write, but I also started my MoonProject internship on Friday. I haven't done too much as yet, but I can tell it's going to be a great experience.
  6. We bought out Christmas tree today, and Colette and I are decorating it tomorrow, so we can finally put gifts under it! Can't wait!
I think that's basically everything! Thank you all for sticking around, and I promise to try and post more. Posts will be more sporadic between now and April, as dissertation work is really picking up :'(

Thanks for reading! xxx

Weekly Summary #42

Shopping, Best slipper socks, Packed for London,
Reece's bed with Charmed and snacks, Ready to leave for the Megabus, In London,
Alexisonfire KILLING IT, Set list, On the way home.

  1. Sorry for the lateness of this post, but I've been at Reece's/in London for the entire weekend, without internet. I have two more posts coming up this week too.
  2. Reece and I went to London to see Alexisonfire's Farewell Show at Brixton Academy. It was INCREDIBLE, easily the best gig I've ever been to. The venue was full to capacity too, there was such an amazing atmosphere I'm just gutted it's the first and last time I'll ever see them play.
  3. The rest of the week was pretty dull, just lots of dissertation work and essay planning. Uni finishes on the 14th so it's deadline ahoy from here on in.
I hope you all had wonderful weeks,

Thanks for reading x

Weekly Summary #41

OOTD, Dissertation work, I'm funny.
OOTD, BEST BIRTHDAY PRESENT EVER, Laptop background,
Lords of Dogtown, Charmed.

  1. This week has been manic, therefore fewer photos and late posting. We're coming up to the final couple of weeks of term so expect fewer posts (ha I know one a week is hardly crazy blogging) and slightly frazzled everything.
  2. I've actually began working on my dissertation. Nothing has been written yet, lets not go crazy, but my arse has been well and truly kicked into action. I'm stressy.
  3. However, I have pretty much completed my Christmas shopping! Mum, Dad, sister and boyfriend all have their main presents bought so it's just little stocking fillers to buy.
  4. I'll also be posting three gift guides, and then my own Christmas wishlist over the next couple of weeks, just to give you all a few ideas; I'm busy compiling those right now!
Sorry this is so rushed but I have a chapter to read and then an episode of Charmed to watch. I've just started a whole rewatch and am superglued to Netflix!

Thanks for reading x

Weekly Summary #40

OOTD, Went to the David Shrigley exhibition, Red velvet cake,
OOTD, To do list, Lunch - day two of work experience,
Lunch - day three of work experience, 007 watching me work, Reece's hair is LONG,
Got paid in books, Taking up all the room, Good girls.

  1. This week has been CRAZY busy. I didn't have a rest until Friday night when I stayed at Reece's. I was bad company and crashed out. Oops.
  2. I did three days work experience at Manchester University Press and it was honestly the most helpful three days of my life. I have definitely decided that Publishing is the industry I want to work in. The staff I worked with were ready to answer any questions and give me tips on how to progress. I got told that the amount of work experience I've been doing is really good, and even got told by one of the editors that if I applied for an entry level position at MUP I would get an interview, which is definitely encouraging! I also got to choose a couple of books to take with me, which was extremely generous of them. I'm honestly so happy regarding my career right now. I have one more internship to do at the end of the year and then I think that may be it for work experience! I've worked so hard, it's time to concentrate fully on my dissertation!
  3. I'm off to a post-grad fair on Wednesday to look in Masters courses, and how to get funding for them. I really want to continue studying, but the financial aspects is a major negative; if anyone has any tips it would be really helpful!
I don't have much else to say really, this week shouldn't be as busy, so I can get some serious work done! I have a couple of assignments coming up in December so I think I'll start trying to look into them! How exciting.

Thanks for reading :) xxx

Weekly Summary #39

Burrito, Rain City Tattoo, Reece's finished tattoo - Bill Murray from A Life Aquatic..
Dissertation reading (each post-it is colour themed), Lovely print by Gre Hale from Reece, New trainers,
And bag, More dissertation reading, Going home.

  1. Last week was a busy one. Reece came to get tattooed in Manchester on Tuesday, so I accompanied him (and watched him squirm) as he got a portrait of Bill Murray tattooed on his leg by Matt Cooley - who, by the way, is the nicest guy ever. I also go treated to the lovely print in the fifth photo. It's two mice entwined, with banners reading 'To Be Alone With You'. The cutest thing ever.
  2. My packages came this week, which was probably the most exciting thing to happen all week. Wild, I know. The trainers are so comfortable, and the bag is worth every single penny. I love them both.
  3. I also got worried about my dissertation progress, or lack of, so started reading. I have on novel to read and one left to mark up and then I get to seriously get stuck in. Hopefully by the start of next week.
  4. This coming week I am working every single day. I have 3 days work experience at Manchester University Press, which I am ridiculously excited about. I really want to get in to publishing once I finish my degree (dreams of doing a Masters will have to be put on hold) so these three days are going to be so helpful. I can't wait!
  5. I also bagged myself a month-long editorial internship with Moonproject.co.uk where I'll be working from home, proof-reading and publishing articles onto the website. I start mid-December. I'm proud of the way I am a bit like a dog with a bone when it comes to getting work experience - I won't take no for an answer. My CV is filling up nicely, even though my social life may be dwindling.
  6. I need to start Christmas shopping. Now. ARGH.
A busy week for me! And this one shows no sign of slowing down!

I hope you all had a nice week. Must dash, I have 50 pages to read before I can call it a night.

Thanks for reading xx

Weekly Summary #38

£50 Domino's, Coffee date, American sweeties,
Ootd, Again, Purchases,
Ootd, ALEXISONFIRE TICKETS ARRIVED, Buy one get one free gingerbread lattes

  1. This week was my reading week from uni; safe to say absolutely no reading was done. I am actually starting to panic about how little dissertation work I've done to be honest. Kick up the arse is needed!
  2. Reece stayed in Manchester this week, you can see what we got up to in this post :) It was lovely to have him here for longer than a day.
  3. We came home on Wednesday evening and I have been working every day since - helpful for Christmas present-buying money, but a bit crap otherwise.
  4. I also managed to get into a huge fight with a taxi driver. He turned up 20 minutes late,  making me late for work, so I refused to pay. He tried to follow me into work and threatened to phone the police. Luckily, the lovely managers at work stuck up for me and got rid of him. Very hectic, and scary.
  5. MY ALEXISONFIRE TICKETS CAME. Definitely one of the highlights of a rubbishy weekend; Reece and I are off to London the first weekend in December to attend the farewell gig. I can't wait!
Definitely a week of two halves, but some cheeky (and cheap) purchases have helped sooth the wounds of a crap weekend!
I hope you are all well!

Weekly Summary #37

Off to Huddersfield, Scary eyebrows, Reading material,
Alkaline Trio, Sausage sandwich and potatoes, Homeward bound,
Caramel syrup, Cuddles, Walkies.

  1. This week has flown by, and I don't really have much to show for it - dissertation worry is kicking in now. I went to Reece's on Tuesday and spent the night. We watched Dexter and slept a lot. Definitely not an 'active' pair.
  2. My sleeping pattern is seriously out of sync; I haven't been sleeping until gone 3am and it's driving me mad as I waste half the day/have to get up really early and then feel like death. Not good.
  3. I finally got some caramel syrup from Starbucks to go in the coffee that my friends bought me for my birthday. I haven't tried it yet though. It was only £3.75 surprisingly!
  4. Reece is coming to stay in Manchester with me tomorrow until Wednesday; it's my reading week for university so we're hanging out here and then I'm going back home for work on Thursday. Hopefully some reading will get squeezed in there somewhere(!!!)
On paper it has been a ridiculously dull week, but I feel like I haven't sat down. Probably because I've been constantly on and off trains. Sigh.

I hope you've all had lovely weeks!

Thanks for reading x

Weekly Summary #36

Angora Cardi on top of silver, Blogging, Desk essentials,
Bed time, DEXTER, OOTD,
Dissertation reading, Today, Stuck in a lift

  1. Sorry it's a day late, but I didn't do too much last week, so almost forgot to write this week's post! It was only after my friend, Bobby, asked me where my weekly post was that I actually remembered! (Hi Bobs! x)
  2. Last week was a bit of a non-event, I had a hermit day which didn't help my already dreadful sleeping pattern. I also realised it is half way through the Autumn term so I need to get some work done. Fast.
  3. I've also spent way too many hours watching Dexter - how amazing is it though?!
  4. Today I went to the Imperial War Museum North at Salford Media City with some friends from uni for a day of talks about the Holocaust to help with one of the modules I am taking. The most eventful thing about the day was getting trapped in a lift for all of ten minutes. Until Matt actually prised open the doors seeing as we were on the ground floor.
  5. I wore my new coat and it is perfect; my H&M jacket still hasn't arrived, which is annoying as I want to send it back asap.
Thanks for reading (more posts coming this week!) x

Weekly Summary #35

Ootd feat. Nike Janoskis, Ootd feat. New Balance 410s, Starbucks boy was a sweetheart,
Cheeky mid-week sale purchase, Post is good, Ootd for Jonny Craig,
Jonny Craig, Late night purchase, This happened - bye bye red.

  1. This week has been a hard one. I'm not going into details but the latter end of this week has been horrendous.
  2. I also spent quite a bit of money this week - justification: birthday money, but I am definitely on a spending ban now, especially as I really don't need anything else! I'm waiting on the jacket in the post and then that is it!
  3. I spent Thursday and Friday with Reece, after the bad news I received a cuddle and a shoulder to cry on was definitely needed. We went to go see Jonny Craig at Leeds Met Uni Bar. To be honest, he wasn't half as good as I was expecting. His voice is brilliant, but he was pissed off his head and came across as a bit of an arse. The vocals were great though!
  4. I dyed my hair (semi-permanent) brown last night. It's definitely a change, I do quite like it though. It initially came out way too dark so I washed it twice with fairy liquid and it stripped some of the colour out, leaving a reddy-brown, which I do quite like. However, I doubt I'll be keeping it.
  5. I have a couple of posts planned for this week - now I finally have everything from my birthday purchases I'll be doing that soonish. It's definitely not in anyway bragging, I've been lucky (and a bit of a bargain hunter) with my birthday money this year. Mid-season sales are my friends.
I hope your weeks have been better than mine!
Thanks for reading x

Weekly Summary #34

Epic food shop, Pasta Norma, Dissertation meeting,
Cinema Trip to see Perks, My favourite men, Birthday pressies from Reece,
Cuddles with Oscar, Birthday present from me, And another.

  1. I hope you'll forgive the Monday post (yet again) but I've had a massively busy week! I had my first dissertation meeting and I think I may have the basis of a decent project, I just need to get my nose stuck into reading some Virginia Woolf and soon!
  2. I was still ill for the beginning of the week so I missed work experience on Tuesday to recuperate in bed.
  3. I went to see The Perks of Being a Wallflower with Abbey on Wednesday and it was brilliant. I wasn't a massive fan of Emma Watson as Sam, I always envisaged her to be a bit more ballsy, but she was good regardless. The screen play was written by the author anyway, so it was never going to be bad. It was great.
  4. I stayed at Reece's on Friday night as we were supposed to be going to a gig (Jonny Craig in Leeds) but it has been postponed until next Thursday so we just stayed in bed and watched Homeland (which I haven't finished yet, but it is amazing!) I was also given my birthday presents, which I am in love with. The Janoskis haven't left my feet.
  5. My New Balance 410s also arrived. They are like hugs for my feet. I love them.
I'm thinking of doing a post on the things I have got for my birthday (not a bragging one, obviously) if you would like to see it. I was given some money and have bought a few things.

Thanks for reading :) x

Weekly Summary #33 (21st Birthday edition)

First day back at uni, Princess Diaries, Coffee cake,
Off to Huddersfield, Compromise - football and film, FINISHED!
Going home, Reunited, Birthday meal starter,
And main, Birthday OOTN, On cola

  1. Hi guys! I'M 21 TOMORROW!! So this week has been crazy! I started back at uni on Monday, went to see Reece on Wednesday, went to Leeds on Thursday then back to Manchester on Friday and then finally back home on Friday evening.
  2. Reece took me into Leeds and we went for an early birthday meal at Zizzi's in the Light. Italian food is my ultimate favourite so we gorged ourselves. He also bought me my replacement Jonny Craig ticket as he lost the other in his room somewhere. Fool.
  3. I also went out on Saturday night with my work friends, although due to catching a horrible cold off Lydia and feeling generally poop all week, I laid off the alcohol and went home early. I also rang in sick to work today and spent my time in bed recuperating. I now feel much better, although wish I could have stayed out a bit longer.
  4. I also had my inner arm tattoo finished. It only took about 40 minutes and didn't hurt half as much as the first session. I'm so pleased with it.
  5. Colette and I exchanged gifts tonight, as we won't see each other on our actual birthday. She got me a beautiful silver Fossil watch, which needs a link taking out, a feather bracelet and a feather ring. They're stunning. I refrained from wearing them until tomorrow though. I've got a stack of cards to open from family too, I feel very, very lucky. I think being 21 is going to be good.
I'm currently in bed and plan on watching Despicable Me and reading the last 50 pages of a book for uni tomorrow. It's been a good week :)

I hope you're all lovely (as always)
Thanks for reading xxx

Weekly Summary #32

Pasta Norma for lunch with Abbey, New tattoo, Painting Reece's toenails - naturally,
Final uni book arrived, Masterchef marathon snacks, Caps texting,
Off to town, Blogged, Chicken and bacon wrap

  1. Hardly any photos this week as it's been another busy one! I had work experience on Monday and Tuesday; I'm really enjoying my time there, and I was given copy to proof-read before it goes into print tomorrow. Very exciting!
  2. Wednesday meant an induction at uni and then lunch at Font with some of the lovely ladies, and also hopping on the train to Leeds to get my leg tattooed by the lovely Sway at Sacred Electric. It was a spur of the moment decision sometime last week where I saw a sheet of flash he had drawn up and wanted to tattoo the pieces. I chose one and got booked in for Wednesday. I am ridiculously happy with it and Sway is a genuinely lovely guy. It was fun. I met Reece on the train back to Manchester and he came to stay for a couple of nights. It was lovely.
  3. I stayed in Manchester this weekend due to being off work so I have literally done nothing. Well, I popped into town yesterday on the lookout for a parka, but had no luck. I did buy a lovely jumper from Zara though, for a tenner.
  4. I'm back at uni tomorrow :D and can't wait. It feels like forever ago since I last sat in a seminar. I'm excited to have the routine again, I feel like this year is the year that counts, and I feel ready for it. I'm a better, stronger person than I was last year so I'm ready to give it my all. Cheesy.
I'm off to catch an early night and do a bit of reading for the seminar tomorrow! I hope you all had a lovely week :)

Thanks for reading x

Weekly Summary #31

Lunch time purchases, Nandos with friends who came to Manc, Cuties,
Abbey gave blood, Reunited, Being annoying,
Post work McDonalds, Best test, Best t-shirt @getbentsaggy

  1. Yet another hectic but, overall, good week. Work experience is still going well - post on that soon. I did three days in the office last week, an intern left so some different work will hopefully be sent my way. It's all really interesting.
  2. A not so good thing to happen this week; I lost a friend. It's a strange and sad thing, but sometimes these things have to happen. It was nice for a time, but onwards and upwards I guess.
  3. I had the loveliest day with Reece on Friday. I'd had a pretty naff couple of days, but going home and seeing him was just the pick-me-up I needed. We stayed in bed and watched The Warrior (recommend!!) and South Park. He's coming to Manchester on Wednesday evening and staying until Friday, which will be a lovely couple of days.
  4. I'm getting tattooed on Wednesday afternoon. Again. I can't wait!
  5. Student loan tomorrow a.k.a buy a TV License and pay rent/bills. Being a grown up is all the fun. May have a cheeky look in Topshop. Maybe.
  6. We have a full house in Manchester again! Lydia and Nat moved back in tonight so we're all here together. I can't wait for this year to start properly, although I do have a lot of reading to get stuck into before next Monday.
I hope your weeks have been lovely too :)
Thanks for reading x

Weekly Summary #30

Day One of work experience, Malteaser tart after lunch, Reece instagramming his burrito,
Taco Bell lovin', Purchases, Lunch with Lydia,
Night in, OOTD, CV,
Finally got around to starting this - I'm a fan, Going home, Rude not to,
Midnight purchase, Window shopping, Dog nicked the ice cream tub,
Night out, Doggy cuddles, NEW BOOTS ARRIVED! (H&M)

  1. Yet again: long time, no speak. However, this time it was not due to laziness; my laptop went and decided to break - highly inconvenient as it disrupted my work experience placement - but it is all fixed now!
  2. Saying that, I managed one day of work experience! It is a lovely little place to work, I'm enjoying it a lot. I haven't really stuck my teeth into it yet, but I'm back tomorrow for a few days, so we'll see how it goes! I'll definitely do a post after this week to let you know how it went!
  3. Due to the lack of laptop and lack of work experience, my boyfriend came to stay the night. I went home on Monday evening as I had a driving test on Tuesday (failed, but nevermind). I met Reece on the train to Leeds as we went to pay off his tattoo. We then hopped on another train to Manchester. We spent most of the time eating - Yo! Sushi, Taco Bell and a takeaway in the space of 24 hours - and shopping. He is such an enabler it's ridiculous. I had a lovely time showing him a few of my favourite places, I'm sure there'll be plenty more of that to come.
  4. Lydia also came back to Manchester for a couple of days so we had lunch at Bella Italia. It's so nice when she comes back, it feels so much more like home with Lydia around, she truly is one of my best friends. I can't wait till we're all back in the house together, although a third Fresher's Week doesn't seem a joyous prospect I must say.
  5. Last night I went out with my work friends to celebrate a few people leaving (sob). A couple are going off to start uni, and one left to go to another (better) job. It was bittersweet, but still lovely; especially after a horrible shift at work.
So there we go, another busy, eventful week. I spent the rest of the evening watching X Factor and My Sister's Keeper with Lauren. It's great to be back in Manchester.
Tomorrow I'm back at Comma and then home on Wednesday to attend a memorial service for the lovely teacher who sadly passed away a couple of months ago. A visit to Reece will be squeezed in at some point too.

More posts are coming! Including a University Experience post (as they seem to be the most popular) and a post all about my first 'proper' week at my work experience placement.

Thank you all for reading, it is truly appreciated, you lovely lot :) xxx

Weekly Summary #29

Outfit, Arthur, Henry Snuggles,
Cheeky Arthur, Jam tart, Reece was a cute child,
Treated us to pizza and chips, To-do listing my life away, Closer,
Starey dog, Aesthetic arrived! - post to come, Bagged a boyfriend,
Hangover train to Manc, Red velvet hangover cure, Crossroads is still an ace film,
More red velvet, Poached eggs love, Fall Out Boy = car soundtrack

  1. An eventful and busy week! I am blogging to you from my bedroom in Manchester. I moved the rest of my stuff in tonight! I'm so happy to be back, it truly feels like home here!
  2. As you can see, I am not longer a single lady (sorry Beyonce). I'm extremely happy and completely smitten. It is a bit rubbish that I will now be in Manchester most of the time, whilst Reece in back in Yorkshire, but he's coming to stay in just over a week, so all is not lost!
  3. I start work experience tomorrow! I will be working at an independent book publishers situated in the Northern Quarter, I went for a wander to find it the other day, and it is situated almost directly behind my favourite cafe (which happens to sell that red velvet cake - oh dear) so I predict I shall be getting a bit tubbier! I cannot wait to start and see what this new experience brings; I have been continuously emailing the lovely people who work there and they have been extremely accommodating - I can't wait!
  4. One downside is my laptop is breaking; the charger connection is a bit loose, and I have to take my laptop to work experience so it may all go a bit Only Fools and Horses. I think I'll take it home with me and try to get it fixed as soon as possible!
  5. Aesthetic Magazine arrived! I am so impressed with the final product, Michelle and all the other contributors have worked incredibly hard and it shows. It is a tremendous little magazine and I am ridiculously proud to have been able to contribute. I adore the way my article turned out, (I wrote the book review, if any of you ladies have read it).
So there we go, a very busy week indeed. I think I may have my blogging mojo back - I have ideas for a couple of posts; there will definitely be a few work experience posts, and a full post dedicated to Aesthetic.

I hope all of your weeks have been equally as lovely as mine,

Talk soon and thank you for reading x

Weekly Summary #28

This was a disappointment, Team name - 'You're a quizard, Harry', Packing for uni,
To do list is long - and getting longer, Friday's outfit, Curry for tea with my favourite,
Eating my feelings, Today's outfit, Tonight's plans.

  1. Another week passes without any new blog posts. I am going to stop making lame excuses, but I will say this - I move back to Manchester this time next week and will have much more spare time so do expect more blog posts! I start work experience on the 3rd, so I may do some posts relating to that - outfits etc. It's all exciting stuff!
  2. Like I said, I move back to Manchester next weekend, so I've been busy compiling lists and sorting through my mountains of crap. I went to my house yesterday, taking 3 suitcases worth of stuff, and organised everything. My room is my favourite place ever, and I'm very lucky as I've been given a small tv for my room. I've never had a tv of my own in my room before so I can't wait to get it set up.
  3. Lydia is currently at Leeds Fest and she texted me yesterday saying she was watching two of my favourite bands - Coheed and Cambria and Deaf Havana. I grumbled and Dad bought me a McDonalds so I could drown (?) my sorrows. I am massively jealous, but definitely not a festival-goer, I've been to one (Reggae Sundance in Amsterdam when I was 17) and definitely didn't enjoy it so I don't bother nowadays. I wish I could have gone to Leeds Fest for the day though.
  4. This week promises to be another busy one: I'm going over to Lancashire to see my nephews and older sister tomorrow, going to Huddersfield on Tuesday and possibly York on Wednesday. In between all this I'm packing everything up for uni, doing the last few washes, buying the last few bits and transferring money all over the place. It's very hectic! Exciting though, I cannot describe how excited I am to be moving out again!
So there we go, my week. Like I said, don't expect too much from me in the upcoming week, but I promise I will try to get a few blog posts written once I'm back in Manchester! I miss writing regularly.

Thank you for reading, and for sticking with me! I appreciate every single reader :) xxx

Weekly Summary #27 - on a Monday (technically Tuesday, it's getting worse)

Best cookies possibly ever, Sin City in bed, Always the first one awake,
Rain storm, ALEXISONFIRE TICKETS CONFIRMATION, Lydia is a tramp,
Outfit, Train station is my second home, Fresh tattoo,
Mango and Passionfruit Costa, Abbey loves me, LOTR

  1. I'm getting really bad at blogging again guys, I'm sorry. I've been busy (the usual excuse) getting sorted for uni. I move back 2 weeks today, but I'm going to my house on Saturday so I've been getting as much sorted as possible to take with me. I'm also looking and applying for jobs in Manchester. It's exciting but a bit of a drag.
  2. I've cut down my hours at work but it still feels like I'm there constantly. I hope I manage to find another job in Manchester as it will make my life at least 70% easier (approximately). I've also cheered up a ton though, something with a certain person has changed and done a complete 180, so I'm happy. Second chances are a good thing sometimes.
  3. Oh I also got tattooed again. It's on my upper inner arm and took just over 2 hours. It isn't finished yet, it has another hour to go on it yet but I couldn't sit to finish it. It is the most painful tattoo I have had to date. The inner arm is such a tender area and it was awful. There are so many pressure points under the arm pit (apparently, I don't know) but I definitely felt the pain. It looks amazing though. I got it done by Tom Flanagan who works at the Oddfellow Tattoo Collective in Leeds, check out his instagram: triple_denim
  4. It's another busy week ahead for me, although I have been give 3 CONSECUTIVE days off (never happens ever!) so I'm starting packing, organising finances, ringing Student Finance and making numerous lists. Awesome. I do love organising stuff though.
  5. Just a note to say - I GOT TICKETS FOR THE ALEXISONFIRE FAREWELL TOUR. Now I don't know how many of my readers are Alexisonfire fans, but this is the final tour. Ever. And I have tickets. It's all the way in December but I cannot wait. I got the poster bundle for me and a friend - £150 in total, gulp, - so worth it. Here's hoping I get paid a lot so I can replenish my savings!
Just a quick message - thank you to the new followers this week, I've been a horrible blogger for the past month or so, so here's hoping I get better soon. Things should be better once I'm back in Manchester with some time to spare!

Thank you for sticking around and reading!
Love to all xxx

  1. It's been a long, busy week this week. On Monday I went to Ikea to buy some things for my room in Manchester, which is now all lovely and gorgeous. I can't wait to move back in September. So ready to get away from home again.
  2. I've been at work as usual, but on Thursday I went to Manchester for the evening to spend some time with two of my housemates. We had Dominos and watched Kes. It was good to be back.
  3. The weather was lovely too, so Lauren and I went for a walk around Platt Fields Park while Lydia finished an essay (lol). We had a long chat and formulated an action plan for me. I'm planning on (hopefully) living in Manchester full time once I have completed my degree so I'm starting part-time job hunting in a couple of weeks! I've applied for a couple already, so fingers crossed!
  4. I have also definitely sorted a start date for my work experience. I will be working at an independent book publishers in the Northern Quarter for three days a week. I am so excited!
  5. Alexisonfire have announced a farewell tour in December so I'll be fighting tooth and nail to get tickets. Even if I have to travel to London to see them. I've never got to see them live so I need to go to this show!
  6. I bought the last pair of size four lo Nike blazers in Footlocker. I am in love. They were obviously meant to be mine ;) even if it meant being a bit irresponsible and breaking into my overdraft to get them. I also booked in for a tattoo with the lovely Tom Flanagan at Oddfellows Tattoo Collective in Leeds. I get tattooed on Friday and cannot wait! Mum isn't happy.
  7. Last night I joined my friends as we all went to Oakwell to play games and have fun. We played kick rounders, timebomb and duck duck goose. Because we are five. It was good fun though!
  8. Overall it's been a good week. Going to Manchester gave me the break I needed from home and I feel more settled. 3 weeks and counting until I move back completely!
Sorry it's a day late! I've just been really busy this week :)

Hope you're all well, and thanks for reading xx

  1. Hi everyone, busy week again this week; full of ups and downs. Mainly downs. You know when you can sense something beginning and going really well, and then boom! It all collapses? Yeah, well that happened to me this week, and I am now being ignored. I am emotionally worn out, but had a long chat with my mum about everything I'm stressed about and we've sorted out a plan of action, so hopefully things should be looking up. I've been really happy over the past few weeks and now I feel back to square one. I'm just not myself right now (I got sent home from work 2 hours early today due to being a wreck). Onwards and upwards!
  2. I ordered my trainers from Office over a week ago and they still haven't arrived. There was a mix up with the courier, so I emailed Office and the lady who replied was extremely helpful, so no complaints as to customer service, I'm just a bit miffed. Hopefully they'll be here tomorrow.
  3. I checked my bank balance and have more than expected left, so tomorrow I am going to Ikea to take advantage of my discount and buying some new things for my room in Manchester. I'm going to Manchester on Thursday until Friday afternoon so I plan on redoing my room a bit and completely cleaning it top to bottom. It's cathartic, as my mum says.
  4. I've been listening to Jonny Craig loads this week. He's playing in Leeds a few days after my birthday and I'm tempted to go, it all depends on whether I can persuade someone to come with me.
  5. Aesthetic Magazine is now available for pre-order (here)! A complete bargain at £4! I'm ordering mine tonight, I can't wait to receive it - it includes my first piece of writing in print!
I hope you're all well, thanks for sticking around xx

p.s. if any of you know where I can get a cute, but plain rucksack (nothing like Eastpak etc) let me know, I'm going shopping tomorrow!
